HoTC Storytime - July 2008 (07/24/2008)
Last weekend we held our second Car Care Clinic of the year. Twenty volunteers performed oil changes, car inspections, added fluid conditioners, and visited with thirty wonderful women and enjoyed coffee, fruit and pastries — all in just 4 hours! As one widow was getting ready to pull away, a tire inspection found a large bubble on the outer sidewall of her tire. Full Story

Three weeks ago we received a call from one of our newer partners—a local shelter for battered women and/or homeless women and their children. They had a single mom staying in their facilities who needed our assistance. Full Story

HoTC did absolutely nothing to help a client and it was great! A heating and ventilation (HVAC) company told Kim that her whole furnace needed to be replaced and it was unsafe for her and her son to live there because the furnace was probably leaking carbon monoxide. Full Story

A couple of months ago we got a call from a friend of HoTC who had just visited a co-worker. Her friend was a single mom of 2 children who just had surgery and would be home bound for several weeks. While bringing a meal to her friend, she realized a real need. Full Story

Driving home our love (12/31/2005)
Monica is a single mom of two older children and is raising the daughter of one of them. She is on disability and going to school to find her way back in to the workplace. Her story starts in September when her car was stolen. Full Story
